Kerin Casey is a painter and object maker based in Tāmaki Makaurau/ Auckland. She creates hybrid painting/sculpture structures based on Chantal Mouffe’s theory of agonism, embracing conflict and tension as generative forces rather than conditions to be resolved. Casey explores attachment and adaptability; through processes of provisional construction, capturing transitional states and contingent relationships.
Casey holds a BA from the University of Canterbury, and a BFA and MFA (First Class Honours) from Whitecliffe College in Tāmaki Makaurau. Exhibitions include Emerge at Northart and Crossing Boundaries, DEMO, both in Auckland.
