Neil Pardington

Neil Pardington is an artist, designer and filmmaker based in Te Whanganui-a-Tara/Wellington, of Māori (Kāi Tahu, Kāti Mamoe, Ngāti Kahungunu) and Pākehā descent.

Pardington's work is characterised by its exploration of cultural intersections and boundaries. In his notable series The Order of Things, he photographed scientific collections in museums, revealing tensions between colonising structures and mātauranga Māori.

A graduate of Elam School of Fine Arts, his work is held in both national and international collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria, Te Papa Tongarewa Museum of New Zealand, and Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu. He has exhibited widely, both nationally and internationally.
