Legacy, 2025
A Wellington based draughtsman, architect, and sculptor, David McGill was raised in Wellington and maintained an architectural practice there until 2010. The materiality of his sculptural work spans ivory, bone, andesite, and marble, moving between figurative representation and pure form.
He has contributed to group exhibitions at institutions including the Dowse Art Museum, Pataka Art+Museum, and Aratoi Museum of Art and History. McGill has participated in international and national sculpture symposia, including Bunka Mura (Japan), Balunky (Slovakia), and Tareitanga in Frank Kitt's Park, where he served as both participant and Trustee
